John M. Anthony
I am John Anthony, served in the Indian Air Force then on to civil aviation. Worked with Jet Airways India, and currently with Qatar Airways looking after their Flight Operations.
I have traveled widely throughout the world, and took up photography some five years ago. Have taken into serious wildlife photography only in the last two years. I love the African sub continent and if you ask me what is the best place to shoot... it is definitely Ndutu in Tanzania. The off roading gives you unending opportunities to be close to animals. Ngorongoro crater is another place which I love to shoot. It is like the garden of Eden. Have done most of the sanctuaries in India also, and the best so far is Bhandavgarh. Have made a lot of friends in the photographic fraternity.
Since I started off with a Nikon I continue with Nikon. Amazing cameras, and amazing lenses. I shoot with a Nikon D5, D4 and D800 cameras, Upgraded myself from a 200-400 lens to the amazing 500mm f/4E FL. Incredibly sharp and light on the arms. Since photography is such an art that it consumes you, I also teach photography to young kids to encourage them to take a camera and shoot. Nothing like catching them young. I am also a trekker and a mountaineer . Have climbed Everest Base Camp and the Kilimanjaro. Have gone trekking on the Western Ghats and in Bhutan extensively.
